Data Engineer - AI application development and data analysis platforms

Our expectations of you

Education

• Successfully completed studies in (Business) Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable degree program, or alternatively, training in a relevant IT field with relevant professional experience.

Qualifications

• In-depth practical knowledge in Python and SQL development (PostgreSQL) as well as in software development standards, best practices, and testing (unit tests, test frameworks, mocking).
• Advanced expertise in data processes (e.g., ETL tools such as Apache Airflow, Argo Workflows, and dbt), data warehousing and data modeling/architecture, as well as in data interfaces/APIs (including REST, MQTT).
• Practical experience in operating data infrastructures, containerization, Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift), CI/CD (GitLab), Infrastructure as Code (IaC, e.g., ArgoCD), Linux, and Bash.
• Strong analytical skills, a structured and solution-oriented work approach, as well as a high degree of independence and sense of responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills, team orientation, willingness to innovate, as well as very good German and English skills (at least B2 level).

Experience

• Extensive professional experience in contributing to (agile) projects and products within the context of Data Engineering.
• Experience in implementing AI applications and RAG systems, as well as in using vector databases (e.g., pgvector) and integrating and utilizing the Atlassian Confluence interface, is desirable.
