Forward Deployed AI Engineer

The role

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you go directly into our specialist departments, understand the processes, and build production-ready AI and automation solutions that will fundamentally change the way the entire GGW Group operates. You do not hand over specifications to a development team. You are the development team. You are responsible for the problem, the architecture, and the outcome both technically and substantively.

You work on the most important issues within the group, with the freedom to make far-reaching technical and strategic decisions daily. One week, you build an end-to-end automation in claims processing for an insurance broker; the next, a data-driven underwriting analysis for one of our underwriters.

The role requires someone who is technically exceptionally strong and at the same time entrepreneurial, who goes in-depth where it matters and builds solutions that really work in everyday life. You work with the independence and speed of an AI startup founder without having to start a company yourself.

Your responsibilities

• Independent implementation of AI projects from problem definition through architecture and development to production operation
• Development of production-ready AI systems: LLM-based workflows, RAG systems, agentic pipelines, automations, and domain-specific models
• Direct collaboration with departments (e.g., sales management, claims processing, underwriting, financial processes) as well as the managing directors of the subsidiaries
• Technical interface function to internal stakeholders: You translate business problems into functional solutions and vice versa.
• Active contribution to our AI strategy through the development of an internal AI culture and knowledge base
