In this role, you will build and operate customer-focused microservices for Tchibo's online platform, working on frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure while ensuring continuous improvement through CI/CD practices.

Your role in the team
- Great customer experiences start behind the scenes. In our Customer Account team, you'll build and run the microservices that support the Tchibo e-commerce journey - from registration and login to customer accounts and communication.
- From the first line of code to production, you design, build, operate and continuously improve customer-focused microservices.
- Your work spans frontend, backend and cloud infrastructure, with CI/CD supporting the reliable delivery and operation of our services.
- Through code reviews, pair programming and testing, you help us create high-quality software with a strong focus on security, performance and resilience.
- Working with designers, developers, architects, testers and project managers, you turn ideas into useful customer experiences.
- In our hybrid setup, you collaborate with teammates across offices, including colleagues based in Bucharest.
- Conferences, Tchibo events and online learning offer opportunities to grow your skills and explore new technologies.
Our expectations of you
Education
- A degree in computer science, business informatics or a comparable qualification gives you a strong foundation.
Qualifications
- You bring in-depth knowledge of one or more modern programming languages, ideally Kotlin, Java, JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with DevOps, Terraform and Kubernetes helps you build and operate reliable cloud services.
- Clear prioritization and strong time-management skills help you handle multiple tasks and keep work moving forward.
- Agile collaboration comes naturally to you, and you communicate confidently in English, the team's main working language.
- You feel comfortable working in a hybrid, international setup and collaborating with colleagues across different offices.
- Familiarity with Vue.js 3, Nuxt 3 or Vite is welcome.
- German language skills.
Experience
- At least five years of practical software development experience have prepared you to take ownership and contribute at a senior level.
- Professional experience with Git, CI/CD, web development, relational databases and SQL supports your day-to-day work.
- Hands-on cloud development experience is important, ideally with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub or Google Kubernetes Engine.
- Experience in software architecture or designing and developing self-contained microservices would be a valuable addition.
