Your role in the team
- Your responsibility: From day one, you'll own your stories and take end-to-end responsibility for your tasks.
- Your team: You'll work in a small team of no more than five full-stack engineers. This allows our teams to work more efficiently and move quickly.
- Your work: You'll be involved in the entire software engineering lifecycle of your project—from product requirements and design to testing, deployment, and operations. You'll see how people actually use what you build and continuously improve it based on user feedback and real-world usage data.
- Your projects: We partner with clients across all industries who trust us with their most challenging software problems. We take full ownership from the first idea to the final rollout. You’re not joining a client team as an extra pair of hands—you’re part of the team responsible for solving the problem. We don’t do body leasing.
- Your impact: You will contribute to some of the largest, business-critical and most demanding software projects in Europe.
- Your perspective: No matter your experience, everyone starts as a newbie and progresses through all our engineering levels. From owning small to medium-sized feature sets to taking responsibility for the entire codebase. Here, you can learn how to build and run large-scale software systems—and grow into a full-stack software engineer.
- Your community: You'll work with smart, like-minded people who care about what they do and the people around them. With over 300 people across our Hamburg and Lisbon hubs, we work hard, support each other, and make sure to create a work environment where you can become the best version of yourself.
- We are a company for engineers, by engineers. You’ll spend most of your time solving problems with like-minded people, writing software, and collaborating with your team in our beautiful offices in the heart of Hamburg and Lisbon.
- We expect a lot. It's not easy. But we guarantee you it will be fun.
Our expectations of you
Education
- A degree: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field.
Qualifications
- Problem solving: We hire our members for their problem-solving abilities, not specific programming languages. We value strong engineering fundamentals, analytical thinking, and the ability to turn complex ideas into working code. We believe: if you know how to code, debug, and solve complex problems, you can learn any language. We hire smart engineers, not language specialists.
- A genuine curiosity for programming: whether through interesting pet projects, hackathons, or competitive programming.
- A habit of stepping outside your comfort zone: Whether through competitive tutoring, scholarships, or even competitive sports, anything else where you pushed yourself and grew from it.
- Bonus skills or interests:
- Algorithms and data structures, understanding time & space complexity
- Functional programming with Common Lisp, Clojure or Haskell
Experience
- Experience in Go, Kotlin, TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience in frontend development, such as ReactJS, Angular, Vue, or Flutter/Dart
- Experience working with distributed systems in the cloud
- Experience in Machine Learning and Data Science
What we offer
- If you ask anyone why they work here, it's pretty likely that they will say "because of the people" and "because I've never learned so much in my life".
- We believe that productive people are happy people.
- In our engineering hubs in Hamburg and Lisbon, you will meet people from all over the world.
- Here you have the opportunity to work with intelligent people on interesting tasks and complete projects from idea to operations—end to end.
- Becoming a well-rounded professional in your field of expertise is a long journey that takes many years of hard work and learning. Being a member of our company will ask a lot of you, and no one can do the work for you.
- Our company is a place where you can become the best version of yourself.
- We don't offer fully remote positions. We work in the office five days a week.
