Your role in the team
- Programming and further development of PLC applications in Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 (object-oriented, in accordance with IEC 61131-3, Structured Text) for automation and energy systems.
- Design and implementation of scalable, reusable software modules and custom libraries (partly also in Python, Rust, C, or C++).
- Integration of field devices and seamless connectivity via industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/RTU, CAN, EtherCAT) into the existing system architecture.
- Development and maintenance of intuitive HMI interfaces for the clear control and monitoring of complex plant processes.
- Connecting the systems to our IoT and cloud infrastructure (MQTT, Kafka, InfluxDB / Grafana) for data processing and remote monitoring.
- Independent planning and execution of software tests, as well as support with commissioning test rigs and pilot plants.
Our expectations of you
Education
- Completed degree in engineering, automation technology, energy engineering, or a comparable qualification.
Qualifications
- Confident use of common industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/RTU, CAN, EtherCAT).
- A basic understanding of control engineering and electrical engineering to optimally represent the system’s physical relationships in the PLC application.
- Confident use of version control systems (Git) and familiarity with collaborative work using agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
- Fluent German and good English skills (at least B2).
Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience in PLC programming (preferably Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, alternatively CODESYS or TIA Portal) and in structuring modular, object-oriented software architectures.
- Knowledge of high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, Rust, or C/C++) and experience with modern software development practices (such as CI/CD) are a major plus.
- Experience in commissioning technical systems, ideally in the field of energy systems, power plant engineering, or process engineering, is an advantage.
What we offer
- Flat hierarchies, short lines of communication, and genuine scope to shape things give you the freedom to put your ideas into action.
- In a dynamic, innovative environment, you’ll take on exciting tasks that give you room to grow.
