Your role in the team
- As a Mac Support Engineer, you provide client support to our many customers.
- Depending on your IT skills, you’ll develop solutions to technical problems that arise in the Apple ecosystem and even work on Mac integration projects.
- You handle and resolve customer issues and technical requests remotely or on-site.
- With your solid IT know-how beyond the polished macOS/iOS interface, you can understand and troubleshoot complex issues for our B2B customers. These include business software such as Outlook, file-sharing issues via SMB, and SSO-related topics, to name a few typical Mac problem areas.
- You receive our customers’ issues through various channels, classify and handle them as tickets, or escalate them to another specialist department.
- You take care of the entire lifecycle of Mac workstations, including installing macOS and applications, configuring applications and the user environment, supporting users with application issues and/or Mac usage, backing up data, and migrating to other hardware. You work hand in hand with our MDM colleagues, who have already automated many tasks and Mac enrollment for many customers.
- As a Mac Support Specialist, you also set up peripherals for customers on macOS and iOS and ensure they work properly.
Our expectations of you
Education
- You have completed IT training or a degree, or have relevant professional experience in IT support, service desk, IT services, or a similar field.
- Logging and tracking the time you spend on customer tickets is no challenge for you, and submitting your timesheets weekly through our PSA tool is a great way to wrap up the week.
Qualifications
- You’re familiar with macOS and ideally with one or more of the following areas: Linux, Windows, cloud (Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace), VoIP, and networking.
- You find it easy to communicate with customers and enjoy doing so, even when things get tricky as a Mac Support Engineer and Apple’s sometimes idiosyncratic changes can be frustrating.
- You have very good German skills and basic written and spoken English skills.
- You enjoy finding solutions to a variety of challenges and working as part of a team.
Experience
- You have some initial experience working with ticketing systems.
- With your excellent Mac expertise, broad IT knowledge, and experience, you can competently resolve customer issues as a Mac Support Engineer.
