Data Engineer

Description of the position: Our Defense & Security division is a recognized technical service provider at a national and international level in the conception of solutions, the support of analysis, development and implementation projects as well as the operation of systems and the provision of services.

In our Competence Centers Data Platforms & Data Analytics, we support our customers in the data analysis of operational data and logistical data from complex military systems. In the Competence Center Data Platforms we are responsible for the development and operation of ETL pipelines as well as for the creation of web-based user interfaces for visualizing the analysis results.

Task:

1. You will strengthen our data engineering team as an employee in the implementation of data pipelines for analyzing operational and logistics data from flying weapon systems
2. You develop and link various data sources with data on the operation, maintenance and repair of aircraft and support the development and further development of a data platform for a consistent overall data situation
3. You implement the pipeline components in Python based on Polars and SQLAlchemy, operated with on-premises instances of Docker, Apache Airflow, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana and other services
4. You ensure that the procedures used in the data pipelines comply with the required runtime and storage complexity and contribute your know-how on algorithms and data structures
5. As a team, you ensure high code quality across projects through code reviews, pair programming and testing
