Your role in the team
- You will provide disciplinary and technical leadership to our IT Infrastructure team, which currently consists of 10 employees (system administrators and IT specialists) across three production sites in Germany—from scheduling assignments and on-call duties to employee reviews and goal-setting, as well as staff development and recruiting.
- As a trainer (AEVO), you will be responsible for training our IT specialists in system integration (all genders): training planning, mentoring, exam preparation, and collaboration with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and vocational school.
- You ensure the stable, secure, and highly available operation of our entire IT infrastructure: data centers, servers and storage (Dell PowerEdge/PowerStore), virtualization (VMware vSphere), VDI (Omnissa Horizon), networking (HPE Aruba, Dell switches), Microsoft 365/Entra ID, endpoint management (Intune), PRTG, and monitoring.
- You will drive the next stages of development of our already modernized infrastructure, including the secure connection and segmentation of production networks at all locations, the expansion of our local AI infrastructure, and the standardization and automation of operations. You will coordinate external service providers and manufacturers and contribute to budget planning.
- Together with our Information Security Officer, you will implement technical and organizational security measures (NIS-2/BSIG, emergency and recovery plans, patch and lifecycle management, role and access control concepts).
- You will further develop our IT operations processes (ITSM/ITIL, service catalog, SLAs, KPIs) and standardize and document operations across all locations.
- You work closely with IT Security, Process Management, ERP & OT, plant management, and electrical and automation engineering, and report directly to the CIO.
Our expectations of you
Education
- You have successfully completed vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration (m/f/d), a degree in computer science, or an equivalent qualification, and have several years of professional experience operating IT infrastructures.
Qualifications
- You have already managed an IT team, either as a line manager and/or in a technical capacity, ideally across multiple locations.
- You have in-depth technical expertise in Windows Server/Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365, virtualization (VMware), networking, and storage—ideally gained in a manufacturing company.
- Knowledge of VDI environments (Omnissa Horizon, Citrix), Dell PowerStore/Metro clusters, HPE Aruba, production and industrial networks (IT/OT), information security and compliance (NIS2, ISO 27001), budget and license management, as well as certifications such as ITIL 4, Microsoft Certified, VMware VCP, or PRINCE2/IPMA, is an advantage.
- You have very good German skills (at least C1), good English skills for coordinating with manufacturers and service providers, a Category B driving licence, and are willing to travel to our production sites.
- A structured, reliable, and decisive approach to work, combined with strong communication skills, assertiveness, and the ability to work well in a team, rounds out your profile.
Experience
- You have experience leading infrastructure projects and managing external service providers.
What we offer
- Room to shape things: You will lead an established team and actively help build our infrastructure during a period of extensive modernization, reporting directly to the CIO and benefiting from short decision-making processes.
- A permanent employment contract with a strong company that is continuously growing.
- A varied range of responsibilities in a family-run company with flat hierarchies and a welcoming atmosphere.
- Your onboarding and personal development are particularly important to us—including vendor certifications (e.g., HPE Aruba, VMware, Microsoft).
- We offer employee-focused health management with a range of benefits and services.
- Our flexible working hours model gives you a high degree of personal flexibility.
