Your role in the team
- You strengthen the Ambulatory Engineering Architecture Team and are responsible for the architecture of one or more AIS-DE product lines, always balancing long-term technical health with short-term deliverability.
- You design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across our heterogeneous landscape - from C++ desktop systems (ALBIS, MEDISTAR, Turbomed) to Java-, Python-, and Kubernetes-based cloud services - in close collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and Security.
- You drive modernization initiatives forward - from cloud-native services to AI-native architectures - and document architecture decisions, target images, and roadmaps that guide the entire engineering organization.
- You coach engineers and leads, establish reusable patterns and reference implementations, and actively shape our architecture community, principles, and standards.
- You think AI-first: You make AI tooling - agents, skills, workflows, pipelines, and harnesses - a core part of your architectural concepts and design systems that maximize their potential.
Our expectations of you
Education
- Outstanding degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable technical field with excellent results.
Qualifications
- Deep technical expertise in modern software architecture (Microservices, Cloud-native Design, Security-by-Design, Eventing and Integration Patterns) as well as a broad technical foundation across C++, Java, Python, and Kubernetes/Cloud stacks.
- Fluent German and fluent English in spoken and written form, very strong communication skills, high technical credibility, hands-on mentality, pronounced problem-solving skills, enthusiasm for innovation, proactivity, and a clear alignment with our healthcare purpose and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Experience
- Several years of experience as a Software or Solution Architect in large, distributed SaaS or Enterprise systems, including proven architecture responsibility and decision-making authority.
- Proven effective use of AI in software engineering; ideally practical experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic coding tools (Agents, Skills, Workflows) as well as in the design of AI pipelines, harnesses, and context engineering at system and architecture levels.
