Your role in the team
- As an Azure Databricks Architect, you support our clients in solving complex business challenges using data-driven technologies. You develop modern data platforms and unlock value in key business areas such as Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Finance, and undertake the following tasks:
- In transformation programs, you design and implement scalable Lakehouse architectures based on Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and other Azure services. You integrate new platforms into existing data landscapes.
- Together with subject matter experts and technology decision-makers, you develop viable solutions, assess implementation efforts, and manage delivery teams from planning to successful go-live.
- Your responsibilities include designing modern medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold) as well as developing secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data engineering workloads.
- Your responsibilities include establishing CI/CD, DevOps, and governance standards for Databricks notebooks, jobs, and workflows, as well as implementing ML and GenAI solutions with MLflow, Feature Store, and Azure AI Services.
- Architecture governance, technical reviews, and the development of reusable assets are just as much part of your responsibilities as the active further development of our Data & Analytics business.
Our expectations of you
Education
- A completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field, as well as at least seven years of experience in Data Engineering, with cloud data platforms or Lakehouse architectures – ideally with a focus on Azure Databricks.
Qualifications
- Agile: You believe that a flexible mindset is just as important for success as knowledge and skills.
- Curious: You are ambitious and committed. We are looking for people who think in terms of opportunities rather than challenges and find better solutions through targeted questions.
- Team-oriented: You value diverse perspectives and enjoy working in a team. We are looking for people who want to achieve something together with us and create a trusting work environment.
Experience
- In-depth knowledge of the Azure Databricks platform, particularly in the areas of Workspace Design, Cluster Policies, Jobs, Workflows, Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog, and Delta Lake. Additionally, you have experience within the Azure ecosystem, such as with ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Event Hubs, Key Vault, Purview, and Azure DevOps, as well as with PySpark, Spark SQL, Python, SQL, ETL/ELT methods, data modeling, and Data Governance.
- Strong skills in stakeholder, client, and delivery management, as well as experience in presales activities such as proposal development, RFPs/RFIs, demos, and proof of concepts (PoCs). Very good German and English skills (at least C1) complete your profile.
