Senior System Engineer VMware

We are looking for a Senior System Engineer VMware (f/m/d) in the Salzgitter location for the “Server Operations” team in the “Data Center Operations” department.

The team is responsible for the IT infrastructure in the corporate data center and the operation of the virtualization environment including backup and storage, as well as the operation of the virtual server instances.

1. After intensive training by an experienced colleague, you will take responsibility for the support, operation and monitoring of complex virtual server infrastructures.
2. You will also be responsible for the administration, operation and further development of our virtualization environments, including the software used such as vCenter, Aria Operations for Logs, vRealize Network Insight and others.
3. You create plans and concepts for the further development of new systems.
4. You also ensure the (automated) provisioning of ESX hosts and virtual machines.
5. You create comprehensive documentation of IT systems and processes to ensure transparent working methods.
6. In addition to the administration of VMware servers in a production-critical environment, you will investigate and introduce innovative techniques and solutions to increase the level of automation and continuous system availability.
7. You analyze problems that arise in the IT infrastructure, identify solutions and implement measures to optimize operations.
8. You will actively work on customer projects with subject-specific relevance.
9. The (further) development and implementation of security concepts is also part of your area of responsibility.
