Your role in the team
- You’ll further develop our case management system (Python/FastAPI, React/TypeScript, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure) using AI agents such as Claude Code: you’ll write specifications, have the agents implement them, critically review every result, and safely deploy it to production.
- You implement solutions that can be handled with traditional software without AI—using fixed rules and verifiable logic.
- You integrate systems via APIs and webhooks, such as Microsoft 365, lexoffice, and the special electronic mailbox for lawyers (beA), and migrate existing Power Automate flows to Azure Functions.
- You listen closely to our colleagues, understand their workflows, and translate their needs into clear solutions. You align priorities with Matthias Prinz.
- You ensure the quality of your work with automated tests, keep an eye on logs and interfaces, and systematically identify the root cause of incidents. Maintenance and troubleshooting are just as much a part of the role as developing new features.
- You introduce new features to the team and train your colleagues on how to use them.
Our expectations of you
Education
- Completed degree in business information systems, computer science, or a comparable qualification. Career changers with relevant expertise are also welcome.
Qualifications
- An advantage: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 (Graph API, Entra ID), Docker, Git, and CI/CD.
- An understanding of business processes and a passion for organizing workflows and improving them step by step.
- Patience and a willingness to listen: You explain technology in a way that colleagues without an IT background can understand.
- Sensitivity to data protection and professional confidentiality: We only engage data processors that meet the requirements of Section 203 of the German Criminal Code (StGB) and the GDPR—you take this into account in every architectural and tooling decision.
- Reliable, conscientious, and independent approach to work—you deliver on your commitments.
- Fluent in spoken and written German.
- Legal knowledge is not required—we’ll teach you the relevant professional guidelines.
Experience
- Experience with agentic software development (e.g., using Claude Code) — essential for us: You give AI agents precise instructions, break tasks down into manageable steps, and critically review every result.
- Practical experience with Python, SQL (ideally Microsoft SQL Server), React/TypeScript, and REST APIs—gained through professional work, a working student position, or personal projects.
What we offer
- A specialist role without personnel management responsibilities—you’ll work directly with the law firm owner, who speaks your language. Short lines of communication and clear agreements.
- Automated tests, type checking, and documented architecture—not a legacy system from the ’90s.
- You’ll learn the law firm’s processes through our training platform, which includes checklists and step-by-step guides.
- Permanent employment from day one.
- A well-established, currently predominantly female team where you can rely on one another—in bright, modern offices on the banks of the Rhine in Mainz.
